about me

let's talk some quick facts: i love jasmine milk tea less sweet, half ice. i don't like to capitalize when i type. my favorite color is red. i have a shiba inu / korean jindo rescue mix named vanilla and she's the cutest dog ever. my toxic trait is that if i have to capitlize a letter, i will use caps lock instead of holding shift.

i made this website as a lil fun project and doubling sorta like a blog. it's like a playground for me to code whatever seems interesting and to experiment. i have a bunch of ideas on figma bc i like dragging shapes and stuff to make things pretty and then i put off coding it until i feel like it. basically i work on this website whenever i get bored and have absolutely nothing else to do.

hobbies

there's a lot of things i like to do! this year, i started reformer pilates so i go a few times a week now. i've been working a lot on my balance and mobility so i hope my joints will not ache after a decade.

i also love to cook all sorts of food! i'm a sauce fiend so lately i've been working on creating good sauces at home from scratch. i think a great sauce can really enhance the overall vibe of a dish so i'm experimenting with all kinds of sauces from regular pasta sauces to random dipping sauces. MAYBE this is unpopular but my favorite dipping sauce is honey mustard and it's actually really nice to make it myself.

do spreadsheets count as a hobby? because i also like creating and managing spreadsheets. if i'm planning something like a trip or some sort of event, there will be a spreadsheet. there's something very satisfying being organized and if i ever need to reference something, i can always pull my spreadsheets up on my phone!

me in animal crossingif only there were more hours in the day . . . there's still a lot i'd like to make time for eventually. my animal crossing island has been abandoned for so long. my poor villagers have not seen me in forever . . . someday i will return! that day is not today or tomorrow but eventually right?

speaking of games, i used to play a lot of rollercoaster tycoon. i love theme parks and rollercoasters and i like to think i was pretty good at playing rollercoaster tycoon (1 and 2 only, 3+ does not count imo). when i was kid, i had the cd rom version that i'd play on but i know there's a mobile app with the classic versions now. maybe someday i will pick that back up too.

i'm also sorta a traveler but also not really. i enjoy going out to places sometimes, but i don't think i constantly seek it out. i wouldn't call myself a huge explorer, but i do like sightseeing occasionally. here are some photos i took to fill up space.

more technical

i currently work as a software engineer, and i've been coding since i was in sixth grade! i started off with just basic html/css and believe me, it was horrendous. i had random tables everywhere because i didn't quite understand what a div was LOL but eventually i figured it out! no one asked, but at least now i can proudly say i know what a div is AND i know how to center one.

i enjoy working in web dev, especially ui/ux and frontend work if that wasn't obvious before with the state of this website. i work fullstack but it doesn't mean i don't have favorites! javascript is my fav, and usually react is my go-to, though i'm getting the hang of next.js too. the previous version of this site was a react app but for curiosity and practice, i redesigned everything and it's a next.js site now!

i still have designs in progress for this site, but someday i will make my snack review pages. maybe i play a bit with getting a database or perhaps i keep everything static. we'll see what works best when i get to it!

did you know tripod fish can be found here? normally they live higher up, but some can be found as far down as 6000m!

you've reached the ocean basin!
